In the temperate zones, vegetation follows the change of the seasons. After a winter pause, plants put out new growth in spring. Research has now brought a new correlation to light: The colder the winter, the earlier native plants begin to grow again.
Since warmer winters can be expected as the climate changes, the spring development phase for typical forest trees might start later and later - giving an advantage to shrubs and invasive trees that don't depend on the cold.
In a recently published study, researchers at the Technische Universitaet Muenchen (TUM) investigated 36 tree and shrub species.
Their work delivered a surprising result, as lead author Julia Laube explains: "Contrary to previous assumptions, the increasing length of the day in spring plays no big role in the timing of budding. An ample 'cold sleep' is what plants need in order to wake up on time in the spring."
This applies above all to native tree species such as beech and oak, because they rely on resting in the cold to protect themselves from freezing by late spring frosts.
A different behavior is observed among pioneer species - including shrubs such as hazel bushes and primary settlers such as birch trees - and among species like locust and walnut that have moved in from warmer climate zones.
"These trees take the risk of starting earlier in the spring, because they are less strongly dependent on the cold periods," Laube says, "and in addition they sprout more quickly as temperatures rise."

SEATTLE -
A 48-year-old Granite Falls man was seriously injured when a tree fell on his car on SR 203 and a 2-year-old was hurt when a branch fell from a tree at Roosevelt Way NE and NE 42nd street in Seattle.

The only road in and out of Ernie's Grove near Snoqualmie was blocked by a tree hanging over live power lines.
The WSDOT closed the SR 520 floating bridge for two hours because of high winds and waves.
Brad Husick lives down the street from the bridge. He said he could hear the bridge creaking.

"I've lived here 12 years, and these are some of the highest waves I've seen,” he said.
Troopers said as many as 50 cars were abandoned on the westbound lanes. Troopers on foot escorted the people back to their cars.
The Department of Transportation said criteria for closing the bridge to traffic and opening the draw span is 50 mph gusts sustained for 15 minutes. When a 40 mph gust is sustained for one minute, a warning alarm calls crews to the bridge for inspection and monitoring.
DOT says they make every attempt to reduce disruption to drivers but in an emergency they have to close the bridge quickly.
The last time the 520 bridge was closed for wind and waves was Dec. 14, 2006.
I-90 remained open on Saturday. Although it had waves crashing over it, it is a much bigger structure. The last time it was closed was the Inauguration Day storm of 1993.

November 03, 2013 - SPACE - A rare "hybrid" solar eclipse, hailed as "the most interesting eclipse of the year", has swept across parts of Africa, America and Europe on Sunday.
A solar eclipse occurs when the moon passes between the Sun and the Earth casting a shadow on the Earth. It's a rare event because this is a hybrid type. During a total eclipse, the Moon fully covers the Sun, whereas in the annular variety the Moon doesn't totally block out the Sun, leaving a halo of sunlight visible around the Moon.
A hybrid eclipse usually starts and ends as an annular event, although it appears as a total eclipse in the middle.
According to NASA, this Sunday's eclipse is even more unique as it starts annular and ends as a total eclipse.
Thanks to the round shape of the Earth, lucky enthusiasts in West Africa have a chance to observe a total eclipse, while others in Europe and in the US will only see the sun partly obscured.
Doctors warn, however, that during the eclipse viewers shouldn't look directly at the sun, unless they use special welder's glasses or are watching the phenomenon with a pinhole camera. Plain sunglasses won't protect the naked eye well enough.
The eclipse begins about 1,000 kilometers east of Jacksonville, Florida, with an annular eclipse visible for four seconds at sunrise.
The greatest part of the eclipse is expected to take place over the Atlantic Ocean, about 330 kilometers southwest of Liberia, at 12:47 GMT, lasting one minute and 39 seconds.
A state on the west coast of Central Africa, Gabon, will get peak viewing of the total eclipse sweeping over a path some 60 kilometers wide. At its peak, the sun will be blocked out for about one minute.
"The eclipse will then continue across Africa through the Congo until it passes through northern Uganda and northern Kenya, ending in southern Ethiopia and Somalia," the International Astronomical Union said. In northern Kenya, the eclipse will last about 10 seconds.
Depending on the weather, partial phases of the eclipse will be visible in southern Europe, including parts of Spain, Italy and Greece.

It was first visible in the southern United States, before sweeping east across the Atlantic Ocean and the African continent.
The US space agency, Nasa, said the greatest total eclipse occurred over the Atlantic Ocean.
One of the best views was in northern Kenya, where tour companies organised trips to view a total blackout.
Local myths there attribute the event to the Moon eating the Sun.

Halo
This solar eclipse was a rare occurrence in that it was "hybrid" - switching between an annular and total eclipse.
In a total eclipse, the Moon completely covers the sun, while an annular eclipse occurs when the Moon is at its farthest from the Earth and does not block out the Sun completely, leaving a halo of sunlight still visible around the Moon.
The eclipse event began about 1,000km (620 miles) east of Jacksonville, Florida with an annular eclipse visible for four seconds at sunrise.

It is I, Sananda.
As many of you know, we are preparing to release of Prosperity Funds for the good of all humankind any day now, to free all from the grip of economic slavery. There are just a few details having to do with the Vatican bankers which need to be ironed out. They are being convinced to give up their hold on the funds to allow them to be distributed. The Pope is presenting them with an offer they can't refuse, and as you know, he has already issued the decree allowing for their arrests, which was given a start date of September 1, 2013. That was done deliberately to give them a few weeks to change their minds voluntarily. It appears that some are beginning to weaken their grip.
Just as everyone else on Planet Earth is struggling with the old rules and standards, the Vatican officials have been steeped in centuries of secrecy and absolute financial power over the entire Western world. Most people have no idea of the enormous wealth and the civil edicts which are still in place which give the Church ownership of all the lands which have ever been held by the Crown of England, and all the lands which were allied under the Axis powers, and all the countries of South America which have adopted the beliefs of the Catholic Church. This includes nearly all of Europe and the Western Hemisphere. So, as you may have suspected, the Catholic Church is the most powerful consolidated political force on the planet.
By loosening their hold on the bank funds, the protectors of the Treasury are well aware that this would be the end to their personal power, and the end to the myth that the Catholic Church as an institution was ever a well-intended religious order.
Of course, there have been many devout and well-meaning Priests, Bishops and lay worshipers, including the current Pope Francis I, but the institution in Rome has always been interested primarily in political and economic power to control the world. This is coming to an end.
Many who are not religious in their current lives are unaware of the worldwide implications of how the dissolution of the Catholic Church will affect the lives of everyone on the planet. This is the ultimate inevitability - the complete dismantling of the Church, in all its glory, pomp and wealth. It will also mean the end of the psychological and religious stranglehold it has had on its people. I can hardly emphasize enough the enormous effect this will have on freeing the minds and hearts of the people.
It may seem strange to some of you that it is I, the one who came to Earth as Jesus, who am at the forefront of this apparent attack on the religion that was ostensibly established in my name. I assure you that I would not and never have supported the establishment of any large organization which called itself "Christian." I was opposed to the building of great temples; this was an important part of my teachings. Above all, I would never have supported teachings which were designed to enslave the thinking and behavior of any of my students.
I, Jesus, Yeshua ben Joseph, was raised a Jew. I practiced the principles and ethics I learned at my parents knees, and never left behind the essence of those teachings, which encouraged a strongly ethical and devout way of life. I was interested in expanding the limits of Judaism to create a practice based in the simple understanding that Love - the Love of Creator and of one's fellow creatures was the only principle needed to live a good life. I taught that turning away from dogma and rote practice of any rules is the first step in turning toward God. You see, in terms of the practice of the day when I lived, I was a radical/libertarian/free thinking agitator.
This is the reason why both the powerful hierarchy of the Jewish community and the Romans wanted me eliminated.
Any and all other Fundamentalist sects operating in the areas where I was teaching would have been opposed to what I taught as well, for I stood for the freedom of each individual to freely communicate with God, unhampered by any dogmatic human opinions or prejudicial ideas. I taught that there was no need for priests or intermediaries - all human beings are possessed with the innate ability to communicate telepathically with their God, their Angels, and even with their ancestors. Does this sound to you like some airy-fairy New Age extremism to you?
Well, the New Agers have promoted their own misunderstandings as well. Namely, that spirituality is supposed to make you feel good, as an end in itself. I will talk more about that later.
Let us concentrate here on the first lesson I will send to you through Kathryn, who has collaborated with me in the past to write the chapter in her book called, "The Christ You Never Knew." I am asking her now to begin presenting my teachings to you directly, in unedited, unadulterated form, unlike the documents you have had available until now. We are less limited now by the language, since more people speak English than spoke my Aramaic language 2000 years ago, and we will have more control over the translations than I did then.
I ask that these lessons be distributed unedited, without commentary, in their entirety. Any translations must be specifically authorized by me. There will be Twelve Initial Chapters, which will work together as one Book of Teachings.
As long as those standards are met, we offer them freely to the world. We also will welcome questions from readers through Kathryn and Anne DeHart. I will answer them willingly, after the first six of these messages have been thoroughly understood. This is a new phenomenon, is it not, your ability to read the "scriptures" as they are being written, in my own words. I will be here soon to affirm these words in person, but it has been decided in our Council that some preparation would be very helpful for all of you.
Kathryn, Lady Portia, has given her permission to be the scribe who will present these teachings to the world, because of our long relationship going back to the creation of this galaxy, because of her deep intuitive understanding of the concepts I will present here, and her ability to take down the words and meaning with complete accuracy. I have chosen carefully, and she has been tested to the limits of her endurance. She has proven herself steadfast in the principles of Oneness I teach, regardless of the challenges we have presented to her. I now feel completely comfortable in asking her to do this important work for Us in this historic time, and she has agreed to take on the responsibility.
Now that our introduction is complete, let us begin with the first and most important lesson I will present in these pages:
God is Love. I, Sananda, the representation of God, am Love.
I speak the words which Prime Creator has breathed into my mouth, as I will do faithfully as long as my life as a soul goes on, eternally.
No other version of my words but this one are the words of the Father directly through me. Many of the old writings have been reinterpreted or purposely distorted to serve the wishes of those in power, in order to remain in power. We must begin anew. If you wish to quote me, please use these teachings rather than old texts.
I will speak only in words of encouragement which will serve to enlighten and uplift humankind to rise above the fear, divisiveness and hatred which has been the way of life on Planet Earth for millennia.
I do not come to establish a new religion, by any name. I wish to teach The True Way - communication with God and all conscious beings in Love, Compassion, Harmony, Forgiveness, and Joy.
Any teachings which engender feelings of fear, guilt, separateness from others, superiority over any other living being, or any rift between an individual and their True Being is not the Word of God, and will not be found in my words.
I AM One with God, as you are. WE ARE ONE. This is the lesson I bring to you in Joy and in Unending Love. You are God, as I AM. We cannot be separated, because we are not separate. No physical distance, no idea or belief can keep us apart. We are destined to live in harmony and peace, in absolute Love. So be it.

William “Jerry” Boykin, in a recent World Net Daily radio interview, confirmed that people with high security clearances connected to the Muslim Brotherhood hold important positions in every major federal agency including the Pentagon and the Department of Defense.
The Muslim Brotherhood is a radical Islamist organization that has vowed the destruction of America from within.

General Boykin has the credentials to back up his conclusions. He was one of the original members of the U.S. Army’s Delta Force which he ultimately led in combat operations. He also served a tour in the CIA during which time he participated in clandestine operations throughout the world. He served his last four years in the Army as Deputy Under Secretary of Defense for Intelligence.
Lt. Gen. Boykin, who currently serves as Executive Vice President of the Family Research Council, blasted Republicans for condemning Rep. Michele Bachmann, R-Minn., who sounded the alarm by questioning the Brotherhood ties of Huma Abedin, a top assistant to Secretary of State Hillary Clinton. Boykin said that neither Republicans nor Democrats want to protest too loudly over concerns of being branded intolerant.

THE SUPREME COURT CAN NOT BE TRUSTED WITH ANY DECISION

The Department of Justice (DOJ) and Eric Holder thinks to pull a fast one on the American People.Eric Holder filed a law suit with the United States Supreme Court that says United Nations treaty trumps the US Constitution on laws in the United States.
The Senate that has already had the majority say they will not approve President Barack Obama and Secretary of State John Kerry’s treasonous plans to circumvent the United States Constitution with the United Nations Small Arms Treaty. Already 50 Senators banned together and sent a letter to the White House and said no! Don’t let that stop President Obama from going out of his way again.
The Department of Justice Attorneys led by Eric Holder have just started advancing an argument at the Supreme Court that could allow them to invoke international treaty for policies such as gun control and conflict with in the United States. This would include conflicts like the planned EBT shortage. It would also enforce the unconstitutional UN Small Arms Treaty that was signed by John Kerry despite the US Senate garnering the 53 votes necessary to block it from ever being signed. The act itself was committing Treason under Article 3 of the Constitution.
This petition filed by the DOJ and Obama’s Administration would give them the power and authority to implement the treaty signed by the US and allow federal prosecutors the right to prosecute criminal cases that would be normally handled by state and local authorities. One might also argue if this gives the DOJ the authority to over ride the ruling of Posse Comitatus or the ruling of international troops on US Soil!
Senator Ted Cruz (R-TX) was one of the first to speak up about this law suit:
The Constitution created a limited federal government with only specific enumerated powers,” Cruz told the Washington Examiner prior to giving a speech on the issue today at the Heritage Foundation.
“The Supreme Court should not interpret the treaty power in a manner that undermines this bedrock protection of individual liberty,” Cruz said.
In his speech, Cruz said the Justice Department is arguing “an absurd proposition” that “could be used as a backdoor way to undermine” Second Amendment rights, among other things.~The Washington Examiner
The precedence is based off a decision on the Supreme Court Case Bond Vs The United States, in which a woman was video taped putting poison into the tail pipe of a jilted ex-lover’s car. Holder and the DOJ successfully argued to over ride the State’s jurisdiction to try this for attempted murder and instead be allowed to at least be heard on taking these cases from the state and prosecuting it under the Chemical Weapons Convention Implementation Act.
On an interesting note this is the same international law the United States tried to prosecute Syrian Dictator Bashar Assad under in international court by saying that he used chemical weapons on his own people. That almost started a war with Syria!
The problem here is precisely that Congress, rather than implementing the treaty consistent with our constitutional system of federalism, enacted a statute that, if construed to apply to petitioner’s conduct, would violate basic structural guarantees and exceed Congress’s enumerated powers,” according to Bond’s lawyers.
The Judicial Crisis Network’s Carrie Severino said the Bond case could have ramifications for many other issues.
“If the administration is right, the treaty power could become a backdoor way for the federal government to do everything from abolishing the death penalty nationwide, to outlawing homeschooling, to dramatically curtailing the states’ rights to regulate abortion,” she told the Washington Examiner.~The Washington Examiner
With Obama preparing and purging the US Military one must wonder if this was his plan all along. If this case goes through, it could mean that President Obama’s hidden government CBS warned us over and full implementation into a dictatorship would be almost on the verge of completion!
